  • Contribution: Projection Designer and Video Editor

  • Setup: A coaxial cable dowser system was rigged to eliminate projection light bleeding. The projector was focused on 4 upstage book cases spanning a little over eighteen and a half feet of throw from a 20 foot distance.

  • Explanation: Elegant supertitles were projected to denote the passing of time over 4 scenes.

  • Explanation: The projector mount at the bottom-right of this page was constructed so a projector could create the illusion of an actor taking a motorcycle ride on stage.

  • Explanation: The video was masked to fit an unconventional sized screen with fabric draped in front of it.

  • Explanation: The animation was projected onto a framed screen that allowed the theatre-in-the-round audience to view as both front and rear projection. Below are illustrated characters which were posed for an extremely simple animation loop.

  • Explanation: Above is the projection screen design. Two sets of accordion panels were created. One of these is pictured below along with the collaborating artists. Next to the screen design concept is a video of some of the animation for my artistic contribution(boxes and balls). Below is a promo I animated and edited together for our promotion campaign.

  • Explanation: Above is the construction and implementation of the Aida projector mount design. Aida animations were projected onto the screens and windows pictured below. Next are a couple of the Aida animations. The final file used by the technician was a flash video executable file to spacebar through scene navigation.

The Diary of Anne Frank Harper College Theatre Company

  • Explanation:The animations showered a gigantic set with moving textures and finally a solemn, burning candle. This project's projection span was enormous and the projector sat backstage.
The Cousins Grimm Bailiwick Theatre Repertory

  • Setup: Because the theater provided us with a projector they wouldn't let me touch, I pretty much only advised on projection material and focused on the visuals and Adobe Flash file development.

  • Explanation: Below are examples of the Cousins Grimm animation. A vine that grew up the side of the theater and a rainbow that flew over the stage are among several Cousins Grimm animations. The final file used by the technician was a flash video executable file which a user could spacebar through for scene navigation.

  • Explanation: The giant projector rested in the backstage right wing. Unique images for slide show montages were procured. Video was collected and, sadly, barbies were injured during video production. The filter of this very large, expensive projector was cleaned according to schedule.
